Fuse boxes are the first line of defence against electrical failure. The circuit breakers automatically turn the power off when they detect a fault with the fuses.

That’s why when things start to go wrong it’s vital to get them replaced, and to ensure you get regular servicing and even a fuse box replacement every now and then.

Your electrical system needs checking at least every 10 years.

Cables, switches, socket outlets and other accessories deteriorate with use, and require regular checks. This increases the risk that they might overload and potentially start a fire.

Sam Day Electrics in Finchley recommend safety checks more regular than once every 10 years to minimize the risk of this happening to you.

Contact us now on 020 8245 3984 to arrange your first checkup.

A fusebox with some fuses switched off

I think a fuse has blown, what do I do?

First, you need to find your trip switch and fuse box. On it you’ll find a series of switches for different sections of your electrics, such as lights and sockets.

If one of the switches is flicked to off you can flick it back on to restore power. If you plug your electrical items back in and it trips again, you might have a fault with one of your sockets or appliances.

Give us a call on 020 8245 3984, and we’ll come and sort the problem for you.
